Mambot Update: SBD Nicer Tables

Formerly SBD Tigra Tables.

After a few comments on our forums and email messages about the functionality of our mambot, we decided to rewrite part of it and incorporate more features, and as a result decided it should be renamed as it no longer just revolved around one javascript but now three.

Originally the mambot provided a nice and easy way to highlight individual lines in a table, alternating the colour between rows as specified either at the mambot parameters page or in each article for  individual table configuration to make tables easier to read. Now it has extra features and functionality.

So what has changed, in a nutshell:

• Ability to use proper CSS formatting rather than just background colour
• Ability to filter the table
• Ability to sort the table

The mambot is based upon modified versions of the following scripts:

HTML Table Filter Generator
Standardista Table Sorting

Nicer Tables Features:

• alternating rows colors, either by fixed colour or CSS
• onmouseover row effect, either by fixed colour or CSS
• easy row (un)marking with mouse click, either by fixed colour or CSS
• all colors configurable either by colour or CSS
• table header and footer offsets configurable *
• multiple independent tables configurations per page
• only a minute to set up
• general or per table settings
• relatively fast, light and robust

* Footers cannot be used when sorting is required, filtering will remove the footer on selection.
