Connection to Freeway? 3 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
How does this module make a connection to Freeway? I'm getting 404s.

Thanks,

Anne

Hi,

To connect to Freeway you first need to install Freeway and the connection component which can be found here: http://www.openfreeway.org/extensions.html, the instructions on how to install are also available here.

Currently it is not the most straight forward install to get both working together, but we can help answer some of your questions.

You can see our test/dev site here: http://devjoomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk/ - however please be aware being our test site it might have debug code showing or bits not working correctly ...

But it does show both Joomla and Freeway working together.

Hope this helps.

I do have Freeway installed and have reread the instructions and all seems to be in order. I have Freeway's module to view events working to some extent in Joomla (the events are showing up) but those event links also give me 404s. Other users appear to have the same problem with that module but I haven't found any answer to that. I am thinking that getting that to work may help with your module, but I have no idea what to do about it. I've tried all the hints I found on Freeway's forum but nothing has helped.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Anne

Hi,

Have you copied the link_index.php file in the root of your Joomla directory, installed freeway in the joomla directory and disabled any SEO? which version of freeway are you using?

I have it running on another install joomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk/link_index...le=shopping_cart.php

I'll try and help answer any questions you have in getting it working.

Many thanks

Hi,

Yes, link_index.php file is in the root of my Joomla directory; Freeway is in the Joomla directory; I don't have any SEO on.

When I visit the link you provided, I get:

Code:

Warning: main(freeway/shopping_cart.phpbr) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/sites/simplebydesign.co.uk/public_html/joomla15/link_index.php on line 38

Thanks for your continued help,

Anne

Hi,

Inregard to the link, probably my fault in the way I posted it. The forums added a <br> command into the links URL.

Hopefully this one should work: joomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk/link_index....php&cPath=4

However I have noticed (only due to reinstall of our DEV site last night) that there is something odd. Our joomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk site will not run under PHP5 (blank screen), but our devjoomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk will - these are both on the same server and same version of Joomla/Freeway etc, both work fine under PHP4 - this is both for our modules and those with the Freeway Component.

This is something we will look into soon.
