Can submenu remains open, after click on it? 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello

Sorry for bothering you with this again, i saw it was mentioned in the forum before, but neither of the suggestions helped me. I tried every possible combination of the settings, but couldnt get over with it.

So the problem is that my submenu collapse, after clicking on a submenu item. (Mouse Over Action is set to version 2, Use Mouse Over, Use Mouse Out is set to no.)

To ease your answer: I need the very same solution as the menu works on your site: "Joomla/Downloads/Software Licensing except" (i see it is not accordion menu), except the site shouldnt be reloaded (just dropdown the submenu after clicking on the parent menu item.

So, in short: click on the parent menu item, that opens the dropdown submenu, that remains open after clicking on any item of it.

I would appreciate your help, or any suggestion for alternative menu, if accordion is not able to do this.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

It is possible to set the submenu to stay visible when you click on a submenu link - but only if the itemid of the menu is correct, some issues can be seen when using SEF components. You can see it here: joomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk/joomla-overview

I am happy to check this for you if you can supply a link to your site or supply the debug code from the menu, you can enable this by add ?sdbDebug=1 or &sdbDebug=1 depending upon your URL structure.

As to the top menu item, you either need to so one of the following:

1) Use a separtor for the top menu item, not an actual link. Or
2) Use the following Parameters for the module:

Use Mouse Over: No
Top Menu As Link: No
Show Top Menu Link: Always
Expand Top Menu: Yes
Expand One Level Menu: Yes

Hope this should set the menu to work as you require, the Show Top Menu Link option is more optional, but if your top links are actual links you will be disabling them so its best to turn this option on.

Let me know how you get on.

Many Thanks

Hi,

Yes please feel free to send your debug code and which menu item etc you are having difficulty with.

on the following link: www.simplebydesign.co.uk/component/optio...Itemid,152/formid,1/

Otherwise if the site is on the web let us know the URL and we can see the problem ourselves.

Many Thanks
