TOPIC: Menus Won't Stay Open With Multiple Instances

Ok, bear with me, I'm new to Joomla!

I downloaded the Joomla! 1.5 Native version (don't care about legacy, I'm starting anew) and saved it to my hard drive. I then tried to update it and Joomla! said sorry the directory is alread there. So, I renamed it, then installed the extension and could see from the web site that my CSS was gone so definitely pointing at the new code. Still no dropdowns and still no "Use Cookies" on the admin page. I think that latter part is the key - why can't I see this option?

Sorry, I tried to post again and it disappeared. I downloaded the latest version and reinstalled it somewhere else and still don't see a "Use Cookies" parameter. I can't find it on the Admin screen nor in the code?

Found my message...on Page 2. Might as well go for 3 pages.

Seriously, let me know if I can help. I have a lot of respect for anybody who can spend so much time coding and then be kind enough to give some of it away for free.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, thanks for the offer. Please can you try the attached version, it appears to work in our tests but would like to know that is fixes the known issue on a live site.

Look forward to seeing if it fixes your issue.

Don't forget to backup any CSS changes you may have done to the accordions CSS file.

Many Thanks

Okay, like I said, I'm new at Joomla.

Tried to install the extension and it told me "no dice, it's already installed".

So, I uninstalled it, then installed it. That caused all my menus to become disabled and revert back to type mod_mainmenu. I cannot see any way to change them back to mod_sbd_rollmenu.

The install then proceeded to create a new directory under modules called mod_dbd_rollmenu_new. And if I were to try and recreate the menus from scratch when I choose New I see 2 radio buttons for SBD Rollmenu. This seems like a lot of work and now I'm deathly afraid of what will happen when I need to upgrade any extensions in the future.

Luckily I just uploaded everything to the web and did this update on my localhost dev site. I'm going to revert everything, but I want to help with your testing if I can. I thought I would just have to install the extension you sent me, then copy back in my CSS files?

Ok, I restored the DB and downloaded my CSS changes. I looked at the PHP file and my little hack was gone and so I assume I've picked up the new module. I deleted the folder titled mod_sbd_rollmenu_new (which I might've created, cannot remember) and now when I create a new module I see only 1 SBD Rollmenu option. My site works and it looks like it did before, so I'm going to check in and upload it. Thanks!
