Why Are Sub Menus Exanded By Default? 2 Years ago Karma: 0
I really don't require any mouseover functionality, so I've turned that all down. I'm not sure then what impact Mouse Over Action has, but it is set to Original (use A tags).

For some reason, my sub menus are always displayed when the page is first loaded. If I click on the parent the menus then expand and collapse as expected, but I've tried every combination of settings and I cannot stop the menu from showing up expanded on the initial load.

The website is here:

www.homecookingforsmarties.com

It's the menu at the top. Also, I don't know if the final version of my website will have multiple accordion menus, but it might. One thing that is sort of annoying is on the second menu when you click on it the screen flashes and reloads instead of just expanding/collapsing the menu.

Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated! Really nice work, I just hope I can make this module work for me.

Hi,

From having a quick look at your website it looks like all your menus are only one top menu item, to stop these from opening have youe tried setting the module option:

"Expand One Level Menu" to No

Please let me know if this works.

Many Thanks

I cannot get the information to you with this bulletin board. Every time I add snippets of code in here it gets upset, returns a javascript error and does not save the post. If you want the details email me. In short, I have found the problem to be what you said, but the setting for Expand One Level does NOT stick. It's always 1 when it comes in during debug and during a save. If you look at the form on the admin page, some things just don't seem right in that openparentmenu is associate with the Expand Top Menu option not the Expand One Level Menu.

File Attachment:
File Name: screenshot.doc
File Size: 286208
Let me try and just upload the document with screenshots without putting any HTML snippets in here.

I think I'm ok without applying any sort of a hack. Not sure what happened, but if I set both Expand Top Menu and Expand One Level Menu to No, it all works the way I want it to.

Thanks very much for your guidance!
